  1. My name is Tony Austin and I played the drum audio for the big drum solo at the end of Step Brothers. John actually played a solo, but it didn’t sound as spectacular as the director wanted. The movie had 2 weeks left in post production and the director was in a real bind. Somehow my name came up and they asked me if I could overdub or foley a better sounding drum solo. I basically mimicked johns hands as best as I could then added more footwork. When the camera cuts away from John or when its tight on him and you can’t see his hands, I went wild. I had to do all of this with out the original audio of john playing, somehow it got lost by the time they game me the footage. It took a whole day studying the footage, then I recorded the solo, at my home studio, in about 5 hours or so. So after all these years, the cat is out of the bag. Really cool seeing it transcribed @EMCproductions. Great work! One note to add, I played it all single pedal. I had horrible double pedal chops at the time. LOL
