The Commandant’s Own plays their 2018 ballad, “Farewell Life” in Massillon on August 6, 2018. Catch them this Saturday at DCI Finals and check back soon for more brass warmups!
The music really captures the essence of brass – the layering and resonance. I haven’t played in an ensemble since 1980 DCI Finals but arrangements like this were the reason I played and what I miss most about playing. Unfortunately there is no other place where one can be part of a talented, well disciplined, and powerful horn line than in a drum corps. Not to disparage today’s corps but with music like this why does anyone need electronics, singing and spoken words?
I need a 20 minute video of this
Wow why is this only a minute? My ears haven’t bled this way in a long time

Yes! The power of real buGles in the hands of men and women that know how to play ’em! Semper Fi!
The only Hornline that Crown Brass will always look at and say “we should be more like them.”
