The light sticks could actually be far better produced and easier/nicer to play with than the plastic, by using clear wood. Clear wood is real thing where chemical reactions breakdown the internal color of the wood’s cellulose and leave the translucent cells, making wood “clear”. The only problem is that clear wood is still an experimental material, and manufacturing drum sticks, which are numerous and can easily break, would probably be very expensive.
